Farewell Floyd: Food Blogging Event

I have had the pleasure of being able to team up with Julia from the fantastic 'A Slice of Cherry Pie', to create a food blogging event as a farwell and tribute to the late, great Keith Floyd.

The idea of the event is that we all cook a meal in tribute to this much-loved chef. We hope you will all want to be apart of it.

This is the idea:

Cook up either:

- a classic Keith Floyd Recipe
- an adapted Keith Floyd Recipe
- a recipe of your own design inspired by, and in tribute to, Keith Floyd

Then blog about it, with a link back to this post and Julia's post, then we'll do a round-up at the end.

Please email a link and a photo to farewellfloyd@googlemail.com .

Closing date: 17th October 2009

Have fun, and enjoy a glass of wine for Keith as you do it.

  1. Do I have to stand outside to do this? - It's getting cold!

Can't I just report how many glasses of wine I've had while cooking? Over a bottle pre-meal would be truly Floyd-tastic.

  3. What an elegant idea. Perhaps people could attempt a little wine matching too?

  4. lol @ having to stand outside to do it. I just made a tribute recipe on my blog at http://weekendcarnivore.com . I imagined my kitchen being invaded by a huge wind storm as I was making the roux..ha.

  6. I might have a go at making something with ostrich steak as my tribute. I seem to remember Keith having quite a few funny scenes with ostriches.

  7. I loved watching Keith's programmes - they were very different at the time. I have all of his books, but I have to admit the only one I've ever used is Floyd on Fire.
I was very shocked to see him in the Keith Allen programme (who I dont think did him any favours at all).
Unfortunately we're off for a short hols but would love to join in Keith's Event when we get back.

  8. Veg Box Boy - I think we should all be drinking wine while we cook.

Julia - I think we missed a trick with that rule, haha

Douglas - Thats a great idea, to cook a dish and then suggest a wine to go with it!

Weekend Carnivore - Thank you for sending us details of your post.

James - Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Not Delia - Haha, I dont think I have seen those ones. I'm going to have and look on Youtube.

  10. Yorkshire Foodie - That sounds like a fantastic idea. Yorkshire has some of the best produce in the country, I love it.
